World-first women's welding helmet

3M has designed a world-first 3M Speedglas Welding Helmets 100 Series — Women's Collection, specifically designed for women welders.

Four new designs are available. The Speedglas welding helmets are said to deliver outstanding protection, comfort and performance with distinctive graphic designs.

Welders can benefit from the helmets’ optical quality and reliable light-to-dark switching at an affordable price, says 3M.

The Speedglas welding helmet can be used with most arc welding processes, such as stick (MMA), MIG/MAG and TIG applications greater than 10 amps. It's also the ideal entry-level auto-darkening helmet for occasional users, such as hobbyists, farmers and maintenance or construction workers.

  2. The type of job you will be performing, the size of the shop that you will be doing the welding in, the power that is available to you and your operation will each be determinants. See here

  3. So the only difference between a woman's helmet and a man's helmet is the color? Okay...

    1. Quite literally, that should be the ONLY difference. And is there something wrong with wanting to customize my helmet like you (hypothetically) have customized yours?? You may have skulls or your national flag on yours, I want some pink on mine. Both of our desires are just as valid and I am just as qualified as you (maybe more so, I don't know you). The jobs that we both do are just as important, as is our safety while doing them. I think I have just as much right to spend my hard earned money on a helmet that reflects my personality as you do.

    2. I agree with Wendy the welder, the only differance should be the way you personalize it. It is a tool and safety gear, there is no gender specific hood. That is like saying i only use a chipping hammer designed for men. Pretty dumb statement, don't you think.
I am not a snowflake, but women really can do the same work as men.
By the way, no skulls on my hood, just a bumble bee.
